Monica Marti was born and raised in Switzerland where she received her degrees as a teacher and as a speech therapist. She moved to the United States with her husband in 1977.
She lived in Massachusetts for 23 years before moving to Wilson, Wyoming where she now lives with her husband and their two Search dogs Mahko and Chief. Monica has been introduced to K-9 Search and Rescue in 2001. By being a subject she has been supporting the K-9 teams for several years. In 2006 she adopted Mahko, a fully trained search dog. She has been training him ever since and was able to certify him in Cadaver and HRD. Her goal is to continue training Mahko and keep him certified. She will continue to support other team members by “getting lost” in the wilderness or laying challenging trails in the wilderness or in town.
